ABOUT ME

Hi, I’m Rachel (she/they).
I’ve been witnessing - and sometimes participating in - birth since I was very young, and I’ve worked as a trained birth, postpartum doula and lactation counselor since 2018. In that time, I’ve supported over 500 families across NYC in their journeys to becoming parents. I’m also an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC), placenta specialist, doula mentor, and parent.

My approach is rooted in compassion, mindfulness, and the belief that there’s no single “right” way to birth. I would describe my support as gentle, trauma-informed, and client-based. Together, we’ll co-create a vision for how you want to feel during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period and how you would like to feed your baby. I focus on offering grounded, evidence-based options while helping you build confidence in your intuition and choices.

I’ve called Brooklyn home since 2004 and live a block from Prospect Park with my child and two dogs. I hold a BA with a double major in Art History and Studio Art from Hunter College. I own a recurve bow and enjoy archery. I have a deep knowledge and love of native New York plants and herbalism.

I am currently serving folks living in Brooklyn and parts of lower Manhattan. LGBTQIA+ families celebrated and welcome!
